The Virginia Hospital Center Accuray CyberKnife Renovation project was a five-month renovation of an existing oncology suite. The renovation included removal of existing S.O.G. to install footings for 48” to 54” thick reinforced concrete vault walls and installation of a structural steel ceiling to support the lead shielding. All work was performed within a live environment, and this was one of the first suites ever installed with the “Robo Couch” feature, with which the patient table moves in tandem with the cyberknife machine.
