This vibrant headquarters space provides a creative meeting environment for local team members to collaborate and connect.
Client Goals
Twitch's new office space is used to attract streamers worldwide to use their streaming platform, while enhancing collaboration and creativity for the online community.
Design Vision
Gensler replicated the atmosphere of the Downtown LA Arts District using industrial and colorful features, while designing a real-life video game-like space enhanced with vibrant and interactive accents.
Construction Focus
The HITT project team recreated the world’s biggest gamers' legendary content studio. With only one other room like it in the world, the execution of this streaming studio provides an iconic content experience to a larger audience. This gamer has more than 13 million followers on Instagram and more than 22,000 subscribers on YouTube, making the execution of this state-of-the-art studio key to the project’s success.
Circular Streaming Arena
This multi-purpose, stadium-style seating room includes swivel tables, four mounted televisions, microphones, cameras, curved lighting, and a specialty ceiling to enhance acoustics. The circular space is perfect for employees and visitors to observe as live streaming sessions take place.
Industrial Metal Portal
Immediately upon walking through the front door, visitors are greeted with visuals that replicate the feeling of walking through an opening scene of a video game. The black metal-lined hallway projects colorful lights to simulate the sensational gaming experience.
The Ultimate Stream Room
The design of this room is inspired by the most recognized professional gamer’s dream streaming room. The space is centered around a large desk and features LED broadcast lighting, a condenser microphone, multiple cameras, specialized acoustic treatment, and other high-tech monitors and equipment which required unique installation to withstand a daily virtual audience of more than 12 million people.
As the first HITT project with Twitch and recently expanding our experience into the creative project space, HITT felt the need to provide an exceptional project and client experience. With high expectations and the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the HITT team maintained constant communication with all stakeholders and coordinated with owner vendors to ensure proper installation of the many unique project elements.
Overcoming these challenges as a team created a strong relationship with the client and we have continued our relationship with our next project together in Irvine, California.
Unique Challenges, Smart Solutions
Ambitious projects require carefully constructed solutions
Challenge
The CRAC unit lead times were 35 weeks longer than what is typically expected due to supply chain delays.
Solution
We installed temporary MovinCool coolers to start the MDF room and begin data transfer and set-up while waiting on the CRAC unit delivery.
Challenge
This project occurred in an occupied building with neighbors above and below the construction floor, requiring the team to work around constraints for construction hours and noise to minimize disruption to adjacent tenants.
Solution
We developed relationships with the tenants above and below the project to create phasing plans and ensure a successful occupied build-out.
Challenge
We could not core into the post-tension slab or touch the post tension cables.
Solution
We used X-ray scanning and partnered with structural engineers to receive final approval for coring locations.

This collaborative workspace features images of Randy’s Donuts, the most recognized donut shop in the world. Randy’s Donuts has been featured in numerous television shows and films for their delicious donuts and iconic giant rooftop donut.
