With safer, more precise imaging for patients, they are improving the quality of services delivered and optimizing outcomes for children. HITT handled this renovation in three phases to keep portions of the suite active for patient care. High-end finishes included three-form lit panels and specialty lighting that had long lead times and required exact measurements. Detailed design coordination was needed to achieve the design intent with the high-end finishes and conflicting existing conditions Outage coordination provided unique challenges in the active patient space and required off-hour work. Due to the nature of molecular imaging techniques, the décor of the MIC features bioluminescence as a continuation of the underwater themes found in the PULSE Center of the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiology. The wall images and interior elements are intentionally designed to provide both positive distraction and a calming effect for patients, families, and staff.
