Overview
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC was looking to find a general contractor to complete substantial renovations to their preexisting spa. The company, an independently operated division of Marriott International known for their luxurious and high-quality brand, prompted meticulous attention to detail throughout the project.
The HITT team completed the 3,000-sf spa renovation inside the notable DC hotel in 16 weeks. Project work included a complete overhaul of the bathrooms, changing rooms, steam room, sauna, treatment rooms, relaxation rooms, and fitness center. The focal point of the spa is the steam room, with imported tile and stone throughout. The HITT team additionally completed a full renovation of the European saunas for both bathrooms.
Custom art pieces were installed in the relaxation room and the entry vestibule, posing difficult challenges for the team to navigate logistically during the project duration. Coordinating work in the occupied hotel proved to be another logistical challenge with the high volume of guests in the high-end Georgetown hotel. The team was able to manage the high expectations of the client to deliver the project with minimal impact to customers.
