Founded in 1980, Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States is a total health organization comprised of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc., and the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, P.C., an independent medical group that features more than 1,000 physicians. The Kaiser Permanente Medical Office Building project in Gaithersburg, Maryland was a 42-week, 200,000-sf project consisting of the interior fit-out of an existing shell. Facilities include the following: three ORs, CAT Scan, MRI, Oncology, Ob-Gyn, Opthalmology, 24-hour Pharmacy, Imaging, Clinical Lab / Blood Bank, Urgent Care / CDU, Ortho-Podiatry, Nuclear Cardio, Cardiology, Pulmonary, Hematology / Oncology, Allergy, Dermatology, Pain Medicine, Sleep Study, Neurology, Physical / Occupational / Speech Therapy, Pediatrics, Head and Neck Surgery and Urology. The project team utilized Vela through Kaiser Permanente and also performed coleman jacking for the new elevator installation.
