Overview

HITT's team renovated a distribution warehouse into a cold-storage warehouse facility used for the distribution of packaged food products.

The central refrigeration plant with 27-foot ceilings included new refrigeration systems with 220,000 SF at 3°C; 30,000 sf at 10°C; 50,000 sf at -17°C to store and package various products.

The infrastructure scope included 21 new rooftop units, two additional loading bays, and electrical systems upgrades.

The build-out scope included offices, a large breakroom, a locker room, a secure check-in station, restrooms, and sanitation stations, in addition to building out the distribution area.

One challenge the team addressed is the cold winters, while the rooms must be cold temperature controlled, there are certain floors requiring heating to ensure they do not freeze during the windier season causing the concrete flooring to crack.

HITT has been a great partner to our organization, successfully leading our aggressive U.S. construction program. The HITT team made it clear they personally care about the success of our projects, working alongside our team to successfully remove roadblocks and resolve complex supply chain challenges along the way.
