Overview
Intersect by Lexus is a unique, permanent space in select global cities where people can experience the ethos of the Lexus lifestyle without getting behind the steering wheel of one of their cars. Neither a dealership nor a traditional retail space, Intersect by Lexus is a place for guests to be entertained, inspired, and educated. In Tokyo, Dubai and now New York, it serves as a creative space where ideas and people converge.
HITT was contracted by Toyota / Lexus for this high-end custom interior project in 2017. Features include a custom 3D wood ceiling and wall paneling, custom-built radiused bar, herringbone wood flooring, mosaic stone tile flooring, custom Eventscape garage area, and marble stone from China. A metal car part collage is displayed next to a new monumental stair and bridge that connects the first and second floors and spans nearly 25 feet high.
Custom auto-sliding pocket doors were installed to separate the kitchen and café areas from public spaces. Event space sits atop the third floor and encapsulates the area in a soundproof environment for private events. High-end kitchen equipment, custom wine units, and a dining area rest on the second floor. Heavy structural dunnage was installed on the roof for new rooftop units and acoustical roof barriers.
The third of its kind, Intersect by Lexus NYC ives in the heart of the vibrant Meatpacking District and continues Lexus’ commitment to supporting innovation on a local, national, and global level. As a lifestyle hub, the New York location merges innovative programming, culinary creativity and masterful design for an immersive cultural experience.
