Overview

This project involved renovating three existing patient care areas including the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), and Neurovascular Care Unit (NVCU) into a single, 18-bed critical care patient unit. The interior renovation included 15 new patient rooms and three new isolation patient rooms.

HITT replaced the existing exterior wall assembly with a new curtainwall exterior cladding system and infilled two exterior niches at the second floor and roof to add 480 sf of usable space.

Our team removed and replaced the existing roof and removed exterior masonry walls on the second floor of the building to install new structural members to support the infilled areas.

HITT maintained a weathertight envelope for the duration of the project; all work was performed one floor above an active surgery suite.
