Russell Hitt Honored with Two 2015 Achievement Awards

On May 7, 2015, Russell Hitt was the receipent of the Virginia Tech Myers-Lawson School of Construction Award for outstanding contributions to the construction industry. The Myers-Lawson Award was established in 2006 in order to recognize only the most outstanding leaders in the industry, their career achievements and their exceptional contributions to the construction industry.

As Chairman of HITT, Russell has built upon his parents’ business, founded in 1937. Earning his stripes as a U.S. Army man and later as an estimator and project manager at HITT, Russell along with son Brett Hitt and son-in-law Jim Millar have grown the company into a multi-million dollar operation with locations across the nation. As a native Virginian, contributing to the economy of Virginia, residing in a landmark headquarters building, and as a leading employer of Virginia Tech students, Russell is considered an honorary “Hokie” exemplifying Ut Prosim (that I may serve), the core value that drives Virginia Tech.

Members of HITT’s leadership team, many of whom are Virginia Tech alums,  attended the Spring Awards ceremony honoring Russell Hitt.
