A native Washingtonian, Senior Vice President Josh Foreso has seen his city experience many transitions. As the leader of our Multifamily and Base Building sectors, he now impacts the city’s skyline himself—particularly in Southeast DC’s growing Ballpark District.
“I grew up here and I love seeing the changing landscape,” explained Josh. “Our team has delivered buildings on streets I remember driving down both when I was a kid and when I was in college in the city. Now I drive these streets with my own three daughters, proudly pointing out what we’re building.”
Base building is a world of delayed gratification; the decisions the team makes today may not materialize for six to eight months, or longer. It takes a certain type of person to enjoy this work, someone who craves a challenge and is in it for the long game. Josh has built a team of construction professionals who fit that mold, who work well under pressure and recognize that what they are doing is about creating a lasting legacy for our clients.
“The most rewarding part of my job is mentoring the next group of leaders, helping them learn from my mistakes and become skilled builders themselves,” shared Josh. “I have complete confidence in my team and want to develop them into a group that will be here with me for the next 20+ years.”
What started as a summer job as a laborer has turned into a passion-driven career. Josh brings incredible energy and levity to his work, and is transforming the hometown he loves in more ways than one.
