Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP
Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is an AmLaw 200 law firm with national and international reach. The project took place in a second generation space located in a class A office building in the heart of Buckhead, an uptown district of Atlanta, Georgia. The build-out included a renovation of five (5) existing communicating staircases; the old metal railings were removed and replaced with glass and the finishes of the stairs were upgraded to wood and stone to give a classic-modern appeal to the space. Multiple reception areas were fitted with wood wall features and custom wood and stone reception desks to further unify the space with high-end finishes, and boardrooms were given center-mounted pivot doors to allow natural light in for a more open feeling while meetings were not in session, but also to provide maximum security during depositions and confidential meetings.
The main reception floor and the training floor were given Venetian plaster feature walls to add an element of color and texture to contrast the wood and stone finishes. Elevator lobbies were renovated with new, all-white finishes including marble, fabric, lacquer panels and high gloss automotive-style paint finishes. A custom lighting package was designed with budget in mind to create a more appealing environment than was found in the previous space while still maintaining a low watt / sf requirement. The main breakroom referred to as the “social hub” was designed and built to catch the entire Atlanta skyline, as seen from Buckhead. The dark cork floors accentuate the contrasting white stone of the curved bar that mimics the skyline view. Adjacent to the social hub is an outside seating area capable of hosting up to 100 guests.
