Every year, there is one highly anticipated philanthropic event that brings out the best in the HITT team—the JDRF Real Estate Games. Annually, the charity hosts a full-fledged adult field day that brings more than130 commercial real estate, architecture, engineering, and construction companies out for some friendly competition in the name of fundraising.
For the last 15 years, we’ve been a major supporter of the event, bringing our A-game to events such as tennis, basketball, cornhole, foosball, noodle javelin, and the popular office chair relay. “I love that the games give me the opportunity to meet new HITT team members and our summer interns,” shared Ron Womach, a vice president in the Government sector and a fierce competitor in several events. “Interacting with people you don’t see on a daily basis makes our team even stronger.”
“This event brings together a community of industry professionals in support of a great cause,” said Project Manager and HITT Co-Captain Lindsay Martens. “Not only do we get to act like kids for the day, but we get to compete against our peers in a fun and friendly atmosphere.”
The Real Estate Games bring in more than $500,000 a year in support of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. We can’t think of a better reason than that to lace up our running shoes and prepare for battle against our competitors—and against diabetes.
