Hunton & Williams LLP, a law firm with offices across the United States, Europe and Asia, tasked HITT with building out its new Washington, DC space. This high-end build-out takes up eight different floors within two towers and required 34 weeks of construction. The space consists of preeminent conference rooms, a full-service kitchen and a wonderful exterior patio. Mobilization commenced prior to the completion of the base building, which was being constructed concurrently, and served as a major challenge throughout the lifecycle of the project. The main reception area features a stone wall that rises from the ninth floor to the 10th floor and wraps around through the café on the 10th floor. Crown veneer panels are located at all elevator lobby walls and ceilings but are featured most prominently throughout the conference center. The “Fortress of Solitude” conference room is visible from the reception area and is easily identified by its curved glass walls and stone table that matches the feature wall in the reception. Curved glass walls, terrazzo flooring throughout, exquisite millwork and a multistory stone wall are only a few of the elements that shape this brilliant 183,000-sf space.
