HITT’s Multifamily Team Donates 705 Trees Through Trees for Keys Initiative

The donation marks the completion of two luxury apartment buildings in the metropolitan area

HITT Contracting’s multifamily team has donated 705 trees to the National Forest Foundation marking the completion of two luxury apartment buildings—Legacy West End located in Washington, D.C. and the Signature located in Reston, Virginia.

HITT team members took part in Casey Trees fall planting event over the weekend—assisting in the planting of more than 65 new trees in northwest Washington near American University. Launched in April of last year, the Trees for Keys initiative aims to plant a tree for every apartment unit completed in each new building delivered by HITT. To date, HITT’s multifamily team has planted more than 1,600 trees across the country, with an additional 1,500 trees expected to be planted next year.

“We are proud of the strong partnership we’ve established with Tasea Development and Boston Properties,” said Senior Vice President Josh Foreso. “Both firms have provided unwavering support of our mission to give back to the communities in which we live and work through the Trees for Keys initiative.”

Legacy West End, Tasea Developments 197-unit apartment community, offers residents sophisticated living spaces in the heart of NW D.C. The building amenities include a rooftop pool deck with views of the city skyline, club lounge with entertainment areas, a pet spa, game room with billiards, and a private fitness facility.

The Signature, Boston Properties 508-unit apartment community, consists of two residential towers–the 21-story West Tower and the19-story East Tower. Overlooking Reston Town Center, the Signature boasts three levels of amenity space—featuring a landscaped patio with ample lounge areas, bar and fire pit, a social clubroom equipped with billiards and foosball, a rooftop pool, and Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market on the ground floor.

“HITT Contracting was a tremendous partner on the Signature project—delivering not only a first-class building that we are proud of, but also continuing their legacy of community initiatives with the Trees for Keys program,” added Richard Ellis, Vice President at Boston Properties.
