College of Charleston Marlene & Nathan Addleston Library
Located in the heart of historic Charleston, South Carolina, the College of Charleston is a nationally recognized public liberal arts and sciences university. This new construction project for the College of Charleston features over 145,000 s.f. of space through three floors of approximately 48,000 s.f. each. The foundation consists of 585 - 105' long, 12” square precast piles with integrated concrete pile caps and grade beams. This is a cast-in-place structure containing numerous design elements such as waffle pan slabs, single and double joists slabs, domes, radius walls, shear walls, and columns. There is a two story structural steel element that attaches to the northwest portion of the concrete. The exterior is primarily composed of stucco, and is heavily accented with aluminum composite panels, precast concrete bands, an aluminum storefront and a curtain wall.
