HITT Earns 3 Fairfax County Awards of Excellence

The Fairfax County Department of Public Works, Building Design and Construction Division honored our Institutional team with three Awards of Excellence for their work on county-owned properties Merrifield Center, the Blair Building, and the McLean Police building.


Awards of Excellence are given to projects that go above and beyond in the areas of safety, construction quaility, schedule management, budget compliance, and contractor-client relationships.

  • Merrifield Center: Interior Fit out at Willow Oaks
    Project Team: Stephanie Gains, Ovidijus Dziaugys, Mike Lyons
  • Blair Building: Conversion of 1950’s warehouse to new office space; 
    Project Team: Tony Casares, Matt Filipowicz, Dennis Viar
  • McLean Police: Completion of Supervisor’s Office and Police Station;
    Project Team: Bill Wetzel, Shannon Mark, Matt Wells

Rich Ruckman served as Senior Project Manager for all three projects under the direction of Senior Vice President Mitch Filipowicz.
