Co|Lab Masters Series: Supply Chain Disruptions

The global supply chain has been fraught with challenges over the last two years, causing material shortages, construction delays, and price escalation for nearly every input into construction. In March’s Co|Lab Masters Series, we explored how we got here and what we’re doing to navigate client concerns and mitigate supply chain issues from the perspectives of HITT Contracting’s subject matter experts – Drew Mucci, Co-President; Gail Suson, Vice President of Preconstruction; and LaVette LaGon, Research Manager.

The discussion centered around:

• Reviewing the worldwide chain of events impacting the supply chain from an economic and geopolitical perspective since 2018.
• Understanding various indicators from consumer spending to inflation – and how they impact materials pricing.
• Examining which construction materials have had the most disruptive changes in availability and cost.
• Discovering mitigation strategies for owners, designers, and builders to alleviate the burdens of the overloaded supply chain.
